Another day, another dollar

Today was just a standard day, My normal Canadian life.

It’s cool that my life here feels so natural and normal now, like I forget that I’m actually Australian all the time.

“oh where is your accent from?”

ohhh that right I’m from Australia haha But it’s cool.

Confession:

Sometimes I lie at work and tell people I’m from South Africa, hahaha I don’t even know why! Lucky no one really asks anything more about South Africa because I know NOTHING hahaha I feel better now I’ve gotten that off my chest lololol

Must have gotten that from the African dance Christy, Chelsea and I made up to sharika

Work was great today again, worked with miss Chelsea. Bloody love that girl so much. We talked so much about travelling, my favourite subject! Hehe she was getting me so excited about going to Bali in Jan. She just backpacked Thailand last year. Travel is seriously so eye opening, and it amazes me that if I never came to Canada I would have never met all these amazing people in my life right now!

CRAZY HEY 

Life, just too good.

After I got home from work I was so damn cold. I just sat on my bed with Jerica and had cute as chats. We are going to have a Halloween party!! YAY Halloween. So North American!

I’m thinking I’m going to go as a Vampire. Lol I wonder what inspired that thought? Definitely not all the Vampire Diaries I’ve been watching haha

But since we don’t have Halloween in Aus I need to live out all my dress up fantasies this Canadian Halloween. Gotta go big or go home eh?

During Jerica’s bed chats Chani called me on Skype. SOOO good talking to Chans! Love her guts!!!

Even though we aren’t as close right now, she will always be such a huge part of my life! She was telling me scandalous stories about some boy who will remain nameless that she’s hooking up with currently

I was so shocked hahah I love SCANDALS heheh

Didn’t think she had it in her, nahhh I knew she did. Love her!

Where the hell are all my scandalous Canadian boys stories??

Hahaha But after we exchanged boys stories I was talking to her about my next year plans, and how I’m so confused!!

Like I want to go live in Mexico/do my Orphanage dream but to save for that I’d need to come home to Aus to properly save. But I’m so in love with my Canadian life that maybe I should come back to Canada and do another year? And just do Mexico later?

But I’m scared that I wont ever do Mexico if I put it off..

Anyways I was telling her my problems and I was like what the hell

but since my bedroom door was wide open, the whole house could hear my whole Skype convo

and then I get a text message from my roomie Emma saying “are you getting married to Bell next year?”

Jerica is still on my bed also, she just cracks up laughing hahaha Chani was so confused..

but I love Emma so much, Bell is this random hot missionary in my ward btw.

My roommates are the greatest; Jen and Emma always surprise me with the most random comments, Especially Jen!

I ended the day by watching more Vampire Diaries and drinking chai tea with Jerica.

Oh actually I had to stop and clean the bathroom tonight at 11:40pm because chores have to be done by midnight every Thursday!

Rainy Days

Oh my gosh I woke up and it’s winter!!

I’m so cold!! IM SO CONFUSED!

It was raining when I woke up and when I left for work. Wait, who am I kidding? It’s still raining!!

Goodness when got to the train station this morning on the way to work it was 1°c

ONE DEGREE

I’m officially scared for winter!

It’s meant to be fall? (What Canadians call Autumn)
Jerica was right, in Canada you only get fall for like two weeks!

I’m so saaaaad :( Although I’m am so excited for snow!! It’s been a few years since I’ve seen snow hehe

But mattttte I’m so scared for this extreme cold weather. I can already tell that Starbucks is going to be my good friend!

Lol in the mall that I work at there are 6 Starbucks’s!! Woooow so many.

Also a sign that Canada must be so damn cold.

...Or Canadians just really like coffee haha

What a lovely wintery day it was :-) so weird that it’s getting cold in September!
It was a bit warmer during the day.

By warmer I mean maybe 11 degrees? Idk I was inside all day Hahaha

Rainy day’s give a cool vibe though, like super chill and happy.
work was actually great today. Well work is always great since I work with my best friends :))

Was working with Chels and Paul today, bless them cutiesssss. Paul has the weirdest music though lolololol

After work I had the best bath! I was so cold and it was so dark! Love baths, I pulled a full Rhianna ‘Stay’ film clip hahaha singing my head off in the bath. Yep, I even sung that song..

had the perfect rainy soundtrack in the background because it's still raining hahahah

Oppsie I didn’t write last night so I’ll do a double recap

Yesterday

Friday the 13^th was THE greatest!! No work and I had a hair appointment, which was crazy over due..

Regrowth city!

My appointment was pretty early down town, which was an adventure in its self but just so exciting.

I’ve been down town a few times but Calgary city is quite big when you don’t know where anything is haha

I got off the train wayyy to early and had to walk six blocks but all good mate, got my converse’s on so I was set for an adventure.

It made me so happy when I was a little lost and had to ask business men for directions while they were on their way to work mahhaha

No work for me todayyyyyyyyyyy!!

Man I love mornings these days; anyways I got my hair done, which only cost $31

Love how cheap North America is.

After my hair appt I walked around down town for a while, the YYC has a wicked vibe hey, so many buskers and markets.

Such a good day!

Got McDonalds for lunch, McDreamyyyy. Seriously Macca’s is my all time favorite food. Its been to long.

I was so happy when I got home and realised Jerica had finished work.

We totally put Vampire Diaries on! Yay!
After about three episodes we went for a chocolate run/ Paid a few bills (PS. How much do I hate bills) Then we came back and got ready for Sean’s BBQ!

Sean’s was fun, had a pretty random bunch of people there, but I always love random. Jesse was there though :) he’s a quite intriguing… so Canadian! Like loves the Mountains so much. Way cool though (I’m getting really distracted right now as I’m watching vampire diaries while writing)

On a side note I’m really scared that my 2007 vampire obsession is coming back loooool. I’m too old for this! haha oh my lanta, but I mean if my vampire boyfriend is out there, I’m really open for you to make your appreance known unto me sometime soon

anywayssssss we didn’t say at Sean’s for very long, Jerica was keen as to go to Jeff and Joel’s house. Which is always a good time.

It was Joel’s birthday and one his friends got engaged. He was heaps cut that they got engaged on his birthday for some reason hahah so I let him propose to me.

So at Church in Sunday school each Sunday before class we have to introduce our selves and say our name and something about us..

So I go “Hi I’m Sarah”…

And then Joel yells from the back “and I like to flirt”

What da hell man hahaha nahh it’s all good. I’ll give him points for that one.

But Joel actually did say something really nice to me! (Surprise) We were talking about how since I’ve been here all these random guys have shown interest in me.. And I was saying it's just because this is Calgary and I’m Australian, which is pretty foreign here.

But then he said it’s not even that. “It’s just Sarah”

Ayyyyyyyyyeeee ;)

That was so nice, bless his heart. Gives me a little confidence when I move back to Aus.

Good Morning

Morning? Yesssss M O R N I N G

I’m so stoked I’ve been opening all week, which means because of the bus timetable I have at least 40 minutes before I start work. So I just come in, put music on and just write and read before I open.

I’m so in love with mornings but I’m sure it’s going to get harder once the weather gets even cooler.

Canadian winters sound scary.

Yesterday

Firstly I bought new vans with the $50 voucher work gave me! Thanks Zumiez xx

And Christy was in such a chill mood! Which is the best!!

We just skated around the store to our surf playlist we had playing. Perfect Pefect Perfect.

I love Christy! She is so positive, her vibe is so contagious. We just talk about our dreams and laugh. She's seriously so cool, she even speaks Spanish. Haha She's going to take me to Belize where she's from one day. HOW COOOOL

Anyways I Sarah Bennallack built my first Skateboard yesterday.

Christy has been teaching me and yesterday I did it!
I’ve got the grip tape down and the removing/putting on trucks!

I love when I open I finished work at 5 or 6 which means I have the rest of the day to go out, or I can walk home from the train station instead of catching a bus because it's not dark and scaryyyy

The little things make me so happy hahaha

Pinch and punch for the first day of the month eh? 

It’s September and still sunny hehe

Since we have no store management, not enough employees and Canadian shopping hours are hectic I’m always working but lucky I work with Christy and Chelsea, Canada’s biggest legends ever. Love them.  

Anyways I finished at 7 last night which was pretty good for a Saturday night! I was meant to finish at 5 but I knew I wouldn’t actually get out then and Chels was closing and I love her enough to stay.

After work Cody and Jerica took me to Lexi’s party.

We get to Lexi's and they’re playing beer pong…. Where am I again? Dance floor please? Ohhh wait we are in Canada haha Lucky i left the red lipstick at home...

I’m so bad at beer pong but I had to try, and mate I tried!! took me back to the days in Colorado, where I thought I was actually good at this strange American game

The boy to girl ratio was on point though. Haha so many Canadian boys!! 

Who knew I’d ever say that sentence haha

It so funny when I’m with Jerica and I met people for the first time, I swear she’s  heard me say the exact same things over and over again. All about Australia and why I’m here ect ect.
