Oppsie I didn’t write last night so I’ll do a double recap

Yesterday

Friday the 13^th was THE greatest!! No work and I had a hair appointment, which was crazy over due..

Regrowth city!

My appointment was pretty early down town, which was an adventure in its self but just so exciting.

I’ve been down town a few times but Calgary city is quite big when you don’t know where anything is haha

I got off the train wayyy to early and had to walk six blocks but all good mate, got my converse’s on so I was set for an adventure.

It made me so happy when I was a little lost and had to ask business men for directions while they were on their way to work mahhaha

Man I love mornings these days; anyways I got my hair done, which only cost $31

Love how cheap North America is.

After my hair appt I walked around down town for a while, the YYC has a wicked vibe hey, so many buskers and markets.

Such a good day!

Got McDonalds for lunch, McDreamyyyy. Seriously Macca’s is my all time favorite food. Its been to long.

I was so happy when I got home and realised Jerica had finished work.

We totally put Vampire Diaries on! Yay!
After about three episodes we went for a chocolate run/ Paid a few bills (PS. How much do I hate bills) Then we came back and got ready for Sean’s BBQ!

Sean’s was fun, had a pretty random bunch of people there, but I always love random. Jesse was there though :) he’s a quite intriguing… so Canadian! Like loves the Mountains so much. Way cool though (I’m getting really distracted right now as I’m watching vampire diaries while writing)

On a side note I’m really scared that my 2007 vampire obsession is coming back loooool. I’m too old for this! haha oh my lanta, but I mean if my vampire boyfriend is out there, I’m really open for you to make your appreance known unto me sometime soon

anywayssssss we didn’t say at Sean’s for very long, Jerica was keen as to go to Jeff and Joel’s house. Which is always a good time.

It was Joel’s birthday and one his friends got engaged. He was heaps cut that they got engaged on his birthday for some reason hahah so I let him propose to me.

But joel got me back…

So at Church in Sunday school each Sunday before class we have to introduce our selves and say our name and something about us..

So I go “Hi I’m Sarah”…

And then Joel yells from the back “and I like to flirt”

What da hell man hahaha nahh it’s all good. I’ll give him points for that one.

But Joel actually did say something really nice to me! (Surprise) We were talking about how since I’ve been here all these random guys have shown interest in me.. And I was saying it's just because this is Calgary and I’m Australian, which is pretty foreign here.

But then he said it’s not even that. “It’s just Sarah”

Ayyyyyyyyyeeee ;)

That was so nice, bless his heart. Gives me a little confidence when I move back to Aus.

Good Morning

Morning? Yesssss M O R N I N G

I’m so stoked I’ve been opening all week, which means because of the bus timetable I have at least 40 minutes before I start work. So I just come in, put music on and just write and read before I open.

I’m so in love with mornings but I’m sure it’s going to get harder once the weather gets even cooler.

Canadian winters sound scary.

Yesterday

Firstly I bought new vans with the $50 voucher work gave me! Thanks Zumiez xx

And Christy was in such a chill mood! Which is the best!!

We just skated around the store to our surf playlist we had playing. Perfect Pefect Perfect.

I love Christy! She is so positive, her vibe is so contagious. We just talk about our dreams and laugh. She's seriously so cool, she even speaks Spanish. Haha She's going to take me to Belize where she's from one day. HOW COOOOL

Anyways I Sarah Bennallack built my first Skateboard yesterday.

Christy has been teaching me and yesterday I did it!
I’ve got the grip tape down and the removing/putting on trucks!

I love when I open I finished work at 5 or 6 which means I have the rest of the day to go out, or I can walk home from the train station instead of catching a bus because it's not dark and scaryyyy

The little things make me so happy hahaha

September

Pinch and punch for the first day of the month eh? 

It’s September and still sunny hehe

Since we have no store management, not enough employees and Canadian shopping hours are hectic I’m always working but lucky I work with Christy and Chelsea, Canada’s biggest legends ever. Love them.  

Anyways I finished at 7 last night which was pretty good for a Saturday night! I was meant to finish at 5 but I knew I wouldn’t actually get out then and Chels was closing and I love her enough to stay.

After work Cody and Jerica took me to Lexi’s party.

We get to Lexi's and they’re playing beer pong…. Where am I again? Dance floor please? Ohhh wait we are in Canada haha Lucky i left the red lipstick at home...

I’m so bad at beer pong but I had to try, and mate I tried!! took me back to the days in Colorado, where I thought I was actually good at this strange American game

The boy to girl ratio was on point though. Haha so many Canadian boys!! 

Who knew I’d ever say that sentence haha

It so funny when I’m with Jerica and I met people for the first time, I swear she’s  heard me say the exact same things over and over again. All about Australia and why I’m here ect ect.

Don't worry be Happy (& Poor)

It’s still so beautiful outside! The last time I wrote I was pretty stressed and homesick…but by homesick I think I just meant hungry. But today I am not stressed, homesick or hungry. I am 100% happy and my heart is full.

After I spent the day yesterday in the sun and getting some good summer vibes I saw a glimpse of the bigger picture. Who am I kidding, who cares if I’m poor when I’m Canada!

Jen also didn’t have work yesterday so I spent the day with her,

she needed to go grocery shopping and I actually thoroughly enjoy going grocery shopping in foreign lands.

We went to the “Super store” and oh my gosh it was HUGE. Heaps bigger than Costco! Mate, North Americans know how to do it! Well, when it comes to food shopping hahaha

Once we got home we were going to go to the pool but it was way to far away and I couldn’t justify that much of a journey for the swimming pool.

Might as well keep on going all the way to Vancouver to the OCEAN! Ahhhh how I wish I could go to the beach right now.

Anyways we settled for the local kids water park. When I say kids I didn’t realise that we’d be the only ones older than the age of 7.

What.

Hahahha lucky we are girls other wise it would have been waaaaaaaay creepy.

But mate, when Canada is 29 degrees in September you take what you can get. I needed some pool time.

We humbled our selves and actually it was so hilarious. It had those squirty guns. Lol cute 

After I got home, content with solid water/tanning time I was so much more grateful for this day off to recharge.

I don’t think it’s a bad thing that we get a little bit stressed in life, if everything was easy breezy we wouldn’t be grateful when payday comes, or when the weekend comes.  Imperfect lives keep us interesting. Life isn’t meant to be perfect but that what makes it so beautiful. Find the magic moments in everyday life.

I don’t even know what I’m saying but my job is awesome and Canada is wicked. I love my life, Even if all I can afford eating is Weetabix haha

Banff

Finally went to Banff!

Oh my goodness what the perfect

Just exactly what I imagined Canada to look like ♥ ♥ ♥

so Mike asked me to go on a banff day date with him, what a lovely soul.

I met Mike for like two minute at this party I randomly went to with Jerica and Cody when I first got to Canada.

So I didn't really know him well at all, but what better way to get to know someone that the Canadian rockies! 

It was a pretty long day, 10am till 8pm. epic long but it was good, we get a long pretty good..

...when he can actually understand me.

My goodness haha so annoying, out of everyone I've ever met in both American and Canada he's the person who struggles the most with my accent.

But it was so nice to actually see touristic things, I feel like people at home will be waiting for these pictures hehe. The view was actually magical.

10/10 would recommend

Pine trees for days, and the mountains ahhhh breath taking! Mum would have been going nuts! Painting Material for sure!! 

Everyone kept asking where we where from since Banff is so famous and touristy. So Mike says we where from Portland for some reason hahaha I don't know why Portland? Australia is cooler than Portland!? But I went along with it..

I mean Canadians and Americans sound pretty much the same anyways so he didn't have to put on an accent but my American accent is hilarious… I do practice at work all the time to sound like a local but when I was speaking today it was so bad hahaha

Water Guns

It was hot outside today yayayaya well hot for Canada, finally got to wear shorts!! 

SUMMER DAYS

But today was rather eventful you could say…

Last night Joel was telling us his hilarious prankster stories that he’s done in the past, lols for days!

Anyways that must have triggered something because he planned this epic water bomb attack on Efy kids that are currently on camp at the university. I actually was so keen for a water fight, was in need of some more summery activities.

So Jen and Jerica my roommates got involved with this as well, we filled up 400 water balloons. Jerica and I made Caleb come to the shops with us to buy water guns, and while we were there we bought all this pointless camo stuff to be matching and cute haha

us roomies had a little mini water fight on our car port roof, so fun but maybe borderline dangerous ^.^

anyways we invaded Efy like we were the ninja turtles or something. I was on the back of the ute with my water gun ready for action hahaha but it didn’t last long we got a few people wet also got in mad trouble which is always a goodtime haha

Since we still had so many water balloons left we went back to the car park where we all met. Someone that was with us saw one of his friends at the park next to us playing that real life game of world of warcraft? Like that imaginary sword game??

But they had real swords and shields but the rest was Imaginary?

Anyways

They decide to join in on the water fight; I was 100% on board. But mate, this one guy whom was quite an attractive geek with that purple shirt on smashed me in the face with a sword!

….

He didn’t care 1% that I was girl hahaha but that just made that much more determined to destroy him. Sorry in advance human.

But after we finished with the water balloons everyone picked me up and put me in the bin filled with water from all the broken balloons. Thanks guyyyyyssss

It got so cold so quickly! No warm summer nights in Canada eh?
